A widowed school teacher in rugged Montana Territory searches for her son who’s the latest child to go missing in the mining camp. When he miraculously returns, she discovers he is now more monster than man.

The Wolf and The Lamb is The Witch and Antlers meets The Pale Blue Eye.

STORY

 

Josephine “Jo” Beckett, a school teacher in a mining camp in Montana Territory, lives with her only son, Henry. She takes precaution to keep him close after multiple children have gone missing, putting the town on edge.

Henry goes missing, snatched in broad daylight, at a social gathering. This brazen, dreadful crime sends Jo and close friends on a frenzied search, but when he is miraculously found, he is changed, exhibiting disturbing behavior.

As Henry’s affliction worsens, Jo consults with Doc Hawkins and Rev. Frémont. Meanwhile, Sheriff Martin investigates a string of gruesome murders, and the peaceful liveryman Sol is forced to confess to spare his innocent wife, Mary.

Jo believes Henry, driven by an insatiable bloodlust, is responsible for the murders, and she restrains him in her shed. However, Sheriff Martin and his vile Deputy Cooley discover Sol is at Jo’s house and come to lynch him.

After Sol and Mary kill Sheriff Martin and Hawkins eliminates Cooley, Jo accepts she must end Henry's suffering, and she kills her own son. When Rev. Frémont arrives to console her, Jo discovers that Frémont is the vampire.

As Rev. Frémont unveils himself to Jo, Cooley - now a blood thirsty vampire - attacks Hawkins, Mary, and Sol, who have arrived to console Jo. While her friends battle Cooley,  Jo lures Frémont, destroying him with faith and fire.

Despite his cantankerous disposition, the erudite Hawkins is considerate and charitable. A skilled physician and surgeon, he is perceptive and discerning. With his only focus on the medical needs in camp, he abstains from conviviality.

REVEREND ELIAS FRÉMONT

The newly arrived Methodist pastor is seen by many as the savior to end the terror that has been plaguing the camp. His moral integrity and steadfast faith is needed, but hidden beneath his blessed robes, there is a dark, virulent predator within.

Scalped by Indians, who murdered his kin, Lucky was saved by Liz, and thus, has allegiance to her alone. Employed as her barman and personal sentinel, he is a keen observer—always watching. Creepy. His unsightly scars and brooding gaze are misconstrued.

He was lead guitarist and founding member of the Southern rock band Bishop Gunn—best known for their track “Shine.” The band toured with Slash and The Rolling Stones, earning a reputation for their “Guns N’ Roses-style” off-stage antics. Additional career highlights include session and guitar work for artists including Justin Timberlake, Machine Gun Kelly, and Aloe Blacc.
